Thank you for this pleasant video. I am just learning Tanago fishing. I can’t find a bamboo Tanago rod in U.S. so I have a purchased a Nissin Ibuki 90 Micro. Can you tell me what size line you use from rod tip to Harris stopper? What size line from Harris stopper to hook? Thank you and “Tight lines” as we say over here in the U.S.

      Thank you for watching!
TANAGO It's really fun to talk to foreigners who like fishing!
      In my case
The general specifications of the Japanese TANAGO fishing system are:
The thickness of the fishing thread is a nylon line of 0.08 mm to 0.1 mm.
Make it about 3 cm to 5 cm longer than the length of the fishing rod.
Make the Harris stopper so that it is about 3 cm to 5 cm from the grip end.
The length of Harris from Harris stopper to hook is about 2cm ~ 3cm
Harris is a nylon line with a thickness of 0.1 mm or less
Or it is common to use fine silk thread or polyester filament sewing thread.
I heard that when the tanago fishing system was first established in Japan 200 years ago, women used long hair.
Naturally, it is weaker and easier to cut than the current thread material.
I think that the culture of enjoying that thrilling fishing was established at that time.
The system used in this video is
The fishing rod is about 100 cm
The length of the gimmick is 105 cm
Actually, this shooting location is far from the surface of the water, and about 20 cm of thread is added to the 105 cm device.
We also make adjustments to the extent that it can be adjusted to the fishing location.
I would be happy if it answered your question.
I look forward to working with you.

@@ichiyamatononaka5881 Thank you once again for passing on your knowledge of TANAGO.🙏
I found the information and definitions very helpful.
I have another question if you would be kind enough to answer.
Do you use the same Harris thickness line from the Lillian to the Harris stopper as you do from the Harris stopper to the hook? I ask this because where I fish there are also larger fish. In the U.S. it is customary to use a slightly thinner and weaker line from the stopper to the hook. This is a preventative measure used if a larger fish bites the hook or snag occurs. If this happens the weaker line will break off and save the rod from snapping and also save the rest of the rig (Harris from the Lillian down to the stopper including the float, beads, and lead weight and stopper). That way only the hook and a small piece of Harris has to be replaced.

      Sorry for the late reply.
I am very happy if it helps.
As you said, in fishing places where big fish can be caught even in Japan, thin from the Harris stopper to the hook.
From Lillian to Harris stopper and from Harris stopper to hook are rarely the same thickness.
I always use the Harris stopper to the hook as thin as possible.
Japanese bamboo poles cannot use the technology of modern telescopic, so if a big fish is caught, the joint will come off and the fish will take it.
If a fish larger than expected is caught, you will immediately grab the fishing line.
Breaking the fishing line will cause less mental damage than breaking an important rod. .. ..
